Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], August 30 (ANI): AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has accused RSS of “double-speak”, saying there have been proposals during the BJP-led government for a law on population control, and now the RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat is advocating three children per family.
The RSS chief made a pitch for every Indian family having three children on Thursday.
Owaisi said that the RSS chief did not talk of providing jobs to 60 per cent of the country’s population, which is young.
He alleged that Muslims have been targeted over population growth.
“Now they are saying that each family should have three children. Earlier, they were saying that there should be a law on population that if there are more than two children in a family, then they should not be eligible for a government job,” he said.
Owaisi said the decision on family size should be left to the wishes of the members and there should be no pressure.
“This should be left to the decision of family members. Mohan Bhagwat is placing a burden on women…., he is misleading the country. Sixty per cent of the population which is young at present, Bhagwat is not talking about giving jobs to them. He is not talking about making them productive. RSS indulges in double speak. They mislead the people,” he said.
He said RSS leaders make remarks through which the BJP can gain an advantage.
In his remarks, Mohan Bhagwat said population growth can serve as both an asset and a burden.
“Our country’s population policy recommends 2.1 children (on average). In maths, 2.1 is 2, but with the birth of children after 2, it is 3, which is why 2.1 means three. Every citizen should see that there should be three children in his/her family,” the RSS chief said.
“This is a vision for the country. Secondly, there is also a concern. A population is an asset, but it can also be a burden. We have to feed everyone, which is why the population policy recommends this. In one way, the population is controlled, and on the other hand, it is sufficient; that is why three (children) should happen, but after that, it should not increase too much, looking at giving them a good upbringing. This is a thing to be accepted by everyone,” Bhagwat said. (ANI)
