Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], June 26 (ANI): BJP Mahila Morcha staged a protest on Wednesday and demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy over the alleged rising rape cases in the state.
The protests were held at the State Secretariat in Hyderabad. The protestors were later detained by the police.
Police informed on Tuesday (June 25) that a 13-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted and raped multiple times over a period by group of persons at Neredmet in Hyderabad.
The police had registered a case after the mother of the survivor filed a complaint at Kachiguda Police Station on Monday, June 24. Following this, police started a probe.
Sub-inspector of Kachiguda Police Station, Subhash, had said, “On June 24, the victim’s mother made a complaint about five people. The girl is a native of Kachiguda and has a boyfriend who stays in Neredmet. Her boyfriend took her outside many times on a bike. One day, her boyfriend allegedly sexually assaulted her at Neredmet.”
“After some days, he introduced his friends to her and they also sexually assaulted her. A case has been registered and an investigation is going on,” the police official said.
Earlier in the month, a sub-inspector of Kaleshwaram police station in Bhupalpally was arrested on charges of allegedly sexually assaulting a woman constable, as per police.
According to the police, the accused and the victim reside on the same premises. Based on the complaint filed earlier by the woman constable, a case has been registered against Sub-Inspector Bhavani Sen and the probe is on.
Sampath Rao, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bhupalpally, said, “We registered an FIR against the Kaleshwaram Sub-Inspector PVS Bhavani Sen, age 46, and an investigation is going on. The victim is a woman constable, age 42, working in the same police station. They reside on the same premises. The victim stays on the ground floor and the officer on the second floor. This incident happened on the late night of June 15 and also on June 16 late night. The victim lodged a petition. The victim has been sent for medical examination. The investigation is going on.” (ANI)
