Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh) [India], August 14 (ANI): Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan on Thursday said Partition Horrors Remembrance Day makes us “eternally vigilant” to defend the ‘integrity of Bharat’ from “disrupting forces” of outside and also from “within” and noted how “friends could become foes?”
In a post on X, Pawan Kalyan noted, “Hearing painful and horrific stories from partition times make us to dwell deeply into human nature. How neighbors could become blood thirsty killers and friends could become foes?!”

“Under the prudent and resilient Leadership of Hon. PM Shri @narendramodi ji, a ‘New Bharat’ is shaping up, which is responsible , vigilant and decisive,” he pointed out while responding to an earlier tweet of PM Modi posted on the occasion.
“The #PartitionHorrorsRemembranceDay is very essential to each and every individual of our Nation to be aware of at what cost freedom was achieved . And that makes us to be eternally vigilant to defend the ‘integrity of Bharat’ from disrupting forces of outside and also from within”
Earlier in the day, observing Partition Horrors Remembrance Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also paid a tribute to the people who endured the “upheaval and pain” of the Partition of India.
Sharing an X post, PM Modi called the Partition a “tragic chapter” of Indian history.
“India observes #PartitionHorrorsRemembranceDay, remembering the upheaval and pain endured by countless people during that tragic chapter of our history. It is also a day to honour their grit…their ability to face unimaginable loss and still find the strength to start afresh,” PM Modi wrote.
Giving a message on unity, he urged the public to strengthen the harmony in the country.
The Prime Minister wrote, “Many of those affected went on to rebuild their lives and achieve remarkable milestones. This day is also a reminder of our enduring responsibility to strengthen the bonds of harmony that hold our country together.” (ANI)
