Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], July 10 (ANI): To conduct the upcoming Kanwar Yatra 2024 systematically, on the instructions of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, an amount of Rs three crores has been approved by the government. This amount has been approved against the demand of the departments for various arrangements of Kanwar Yatra 2024 and made available to the District Magistrate Haridwar.
The Chief Minister had given instructions to the officers in the review meetings held earlier to conduct the arrangements of the Kanwar Yatra.
Dhami had also directed that in view of the number of Shiva devotees who came to last year’s Kanwar Yatra and the arrangements, special attention should be paid to the necessary facilities to be given to the devotees participating in the Kanwar Yatra this year, along with this, instructions have been given by him to pay special attention to peace and law and order and traffic management during this time.
In this regard, Additional Secretary Urban Development Nitin Bhadoria has clarified in the government order addressed to District Magistrate Haridwar that for the arrangements of Kanwar Mela-2024, the demand for funds received from various departments should be reviewed at its level and the funds should be spent only under the financial rules by selecting the most essential works. If as per the rules, it is necessary to obtain financial and administrative approval of the government separately for the estimation of any construction work etc., then its proposal will be made available to the government separately.
Earlier, Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh and Director-General of Police (DGP) Prashant Kumar visited Ayodhya and inspected the preparations for the upcoming Kanwar Yatra that will begin on July 22.
To ensure the smooth conduct of the Yatra, the officials inspected the Hanuman Garhi Ramlala and Mani Parvat Temples.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh and DGP Prashant Kumar on Sunday held a review meeting in Ayodhya with various departments.
